ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Ensures cost effectiveness by negotiating and purchasing product, technology related hardware, software, service contracts, and leases for all Mouser locations.
  • Lead RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs for products, hardware, software, SaaS, maintenance, and professional services.
  • Ensure competitive analysis and bidding, fair evaluation, and decision transparency.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Infosec on contractual risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Ensure purchases align with company procurement policies, financial controls, and strategic objectives.
  • Drive cost savings, value realization, and vendor consolidation where appropriate.
  • Improves and updates contract administration by developing and maintaining processes and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations by reviewing requirements, quotes, and invoices.
  • Maintains all technology support and maintenance contracts to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Manages, audits, and advises on all Mouser technology licensing.
  • Monitor obligations, renewals, benchmarks, performance metrics, and vendor adherence.
  • Creates processes to manage renewal reminders and follow-up for terminations or obtain quotes for renewals.
  • Provides feedback for process improvements, cost reduction opportunities, and compliance or governance.
  • Works with relevant stakeholders on new technology purchases and tracking mechanisms for licensing and cloud-based products.
  • Oversees daily work flow and projects for team.
  • Subject matter expert for team job functions.
  • Fosters a learning environment and mentors team members.
  • Works with minimum supervision and makes independent judgments.
  • Assists management with development of results oriented processes and project management.
  • Initiates, establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with business contacts of various cultures, and at all levels.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS



  • Skill evaluation: Behavioral (80%)
  • Strong contracting and negotiation skills, including ability to structure commercial terms and influence outcomes with senior stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into sourcing and contract requirements.
  • Proficiency in contract management and sourcing tools, along with advanced Excel or data analysis capabilities to support factbased decisions.
  • Cost modeling, savings tracking, benchmarking, and vendor performance analysis.
  • Comfortable working with budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong project management, organization, and timemanagement to oversee multiple concurrent sourcing and contracting initiatives.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier relationship management, and basic legal/contract principles relevant to commercial agreements.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills, including comfort with interpreting complex proposals, pricing models, and risk tradeoffs.
  • Strong commercial acumen and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Able to influence without authority.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Internal candidates: Minimum 1 year as a highly performing Mouser employee.
  • External candidates: Minimum 2 years prior work experience that is relevant to the team you will lead.
  • 6+ years experience in critical job functions of the team; can be combination of internal and external experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract management, with direct responsibility for running sourcing events and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience in procurement and contracting for software and subscription services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple categories or projects and delivering measurable cost savings and value.
