Applications received after June 30, 2026 may be reviewed depending on search progress and needs but are not guaranteed full consideration. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Rhode Island Nursing Education Center (RINEC), Providence - This is a hybrid position, with the option to work completely remotely. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ POSITION SUMMARY: Lead the College of Nursing (CON) activities relating to obtaining and administering external grants and sponsored projects. Focus is on primarily the pre-award period and post-award management with grant administration responsibilities across the entire research life cycle. Conduct training in the process of submitting proposals in the CON, as needed. Assist faculty in proposal formation and submission in CON. Assist the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship (ADR) in the promotion of funding opportunities. Along with the Business Manager, help manage administrative support functions (overhead and research funds) for CON and its units including the following: budget monitoring, compliance and forecasting, and development of online reporting. Duties and Responsibilities: KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct the various administrative and financial tasks in the research arm of the college, including budget development, and daily monitoring of assigned projects.Work with faculty, supporting them in a variety of pre- and post-award activities related to research and training grants. PRE-AWARD: Assist with the preparation of grant applications and on-line research reporting requirements. The Research Coordinator:* Provides professional support for grant proposal preparation and acts as a liaison between the faculty and central offices for required university approvals;* Reviews proposals, interprets sponsor guidelines and generates budgets to ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines, applicable regulations and University policies;* Manages the intake, evaluation, tracking, and prioritization of grant opportunities, ensuring timely submissions and alignment with organizational strategy and funding capacity.* Pursuing professional development opportunities by attending training, conferences and participating in webinars.Attention to detail and accuracy and remaining current in the field of research administration are key factors.Manage all areas of research related procurement. POST-AWARD:Review and oversee delivery of grant reports to faculty. Meet with faculty on a regular basis to review grant activity offering strategic guidance and re-forecasting if necessary.Ensure compliance with university and federal guidelines.* Provide administrative and financial support for sponsored research and departmental operations in compliance with university and sponsor policies and procedures.* Utilize InfoEd, PeopleSoft, and other university systems to process and monitor research administration activities.* Process signature authorizations, security access forms, and hiring paperwork for employees and student staff.* Oversee weekly payroll administration, including payroll adjustments and summer recontracting for faculty.* Process travel authorizations, expense reports, cash advances, and participant incentive payments.* Coordinate purchasing and financial transactions, including, but not limited to, purchase orders, contracts, invoice vouchers, and vendor setup documentation.* Assist with consultant hiring and subcontract documentation involving departments, Principal Investigators (PIs), external institutions, Purchasing, and the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP).* Facilitate post-award grant administration activities, including budget revisions, no-cost extensions, effort certifications, and Dean's Pledges.* Reconcile accounts and monitor grant budgets and expenditures for compliance with sponsor and university guidelines.* Advise Principal Investigators (PIs) on financial procedures, grant-related expenses, and sponsor regulations.* Assist with PCard and Tcard setup, purchases, reconciliation, and documentation within university guidelines.Manage research related personnel activities including PeopleSoft, recruiting tasks, student hires, faculty buyouts and summer salary.Prepare monthly research activity reports for ADR or designee and monitor expenditures throughout the year.Reconcile the budgets and accounting records to ensure proper utilization of the funds allocated, funded research, match commitments and other financial resources including federal, state, foundation, and private resources. Monitor assigned accounts and maintain accurate financial records utilizing the PeopleSoft system.Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis. Assist in the preparation of specialized financial reports and analyses including allocations, mid-year reviews, agency specific reporting. Assist with the preparation of academic programmatic reports both regular and ad hoc reports as directed, and compile data as needed by the ADR or designee.Interact with the College's Business Office and liaison with other University offices, when appropriate, including the Office of Sponsored Research. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform related duties as assigned.Supervise and coordinate the work of support staff, including students.
