Summary:
The Epic Ambulatory Analyst supports Virtual Care, Unified Communications, and cross-continuum clinical workflows that span ambulatory and inpatient settings. While positioned within the Ambulatory Services team, this role requires strong understanding of inpatient clinical workflows and collaboration with hospital-based operational and application teams. Although the primary focus of this position is Virtual Care and Unified Communications, the analyst may also support other ambulatory applications, initiatives, and operational priorities as needed.

The analyst serves as a subject matter expert for telehealth workflows, secure communication tools, mobile clinical access, and cross-continuum integration between ambulatory and hospital operations. Responsibilities include workflow analysis, system configuration, testing, training support, issue resolution, and ongoing optimization aligned with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Epic Ambulatory applications and integrated workflows.
  • Lead and support Virtual Care initiatives including telehealth scheduling, video visits, patient engagement tools, and remote workflow integration.
  • Support Unified Communications strategies involving Epic mobile applications such as Haiku, Canto, Rover, Secure Chat, and provider communication workflows.
  • Collaborate with inpatient and ambulatory operational teams to streamline transitions of care and shared clinical workflows.
  • Analyze current-state workflows and recommend future-state solutions that improve clinician experience and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and participate in application upgrades, testing cycles, go-lives, and post-implementation support.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues and work with cross-functional IT teams to resolve integration and workflow concerns.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, workflow diagrams, build standards, and change management records.
  • Provide support for optimization efforts related to mobile access, provider mobility, patient throughput, and virtual patient interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA requirements, and Epic best practices.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations and incident management as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic certifications such as Haiku/Canto, Rover, MyChart, Care Everywhere, or ClinDoc preferred.
  • Experience with telehealth implementation and provider communication platforms.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability and integrated care coordination workflows.
  • Experience supporting enterprise mobility or unified communications initiatives in healthcare settings.
Other Information

Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* If a Bachelor's degree: Two (2) years of IT systems and/or operational experience.
* If an Associate's degree: Four (4) years of IT systems and/or operational experience.
* If a High School diploma or GED: Six (6) years of IT systems and/or operational experience.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Highly responsive to internal customers.
  • Experience supporting Epic Virtual Care workflows and/or Epic mobile applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of ambulatory and inpatient clinical operations and integrated healthcare workflows.
  • Experience with workflow analysis, system design, testing, and end-user support.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
