Manager, Accounting Advisory
Our client, a high-growthprofessional services firm, is seeking an Advisory Manager to support complex accounting and transaction-related engagements.

Location:
Bay Area, CA. This position offers a flexible work environment, mostly remote, with periodic in-person collaboration.

Job Description:
This role will partner closely with client leadership teams to address financial reporting, technical accounting, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong public accounting or advisory experience, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Research, document, and present accounting positions for complex transactions
  • Prepare and review financial statements and external reporting deliverables
  • Support transaction-related engagements, including mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
  • Assist with financial modeling, due diligence, and integration activities
  • Serve in interim finance and accounting roles as needed (e.g., controller, reporting, or FP&A support)
  • Develop tailored reporting and analysis to support key financial decisions
  • Act as a liaison between client management and external auditors
  • Participate in and lead project-related workstreams and client engagements
  • Oversee and mentor staff, providing feedback to support development and performance
  • Participate in business development and relationship-building efforts
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA required
  • 4-7 years of Big 4 public accounting or advisory experience, with audit background preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience supporting transactions or technical accounting matters
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Leadership experience or interest in mentoring team members
  • Willingness to travel as needed
Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to:
  • The individual's skill sets, experience, and training;
  • Licensure and certifications;
  • Office location and other geographic considerations;
  • Other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco by Highspring notes that the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
