Purpose of the Role

The EVM Specialist role supports project success by providing earned value management support, project performance analysis, forecasting, and integrated reporting across project lifecycles. This role contributes to project visibility by helping teams understand cost and schedule performance, supporting data-driven decision making, and enabling effective project controls practices that align with customer objectives and sustainable project delivery.

Working within established processes and under technical guidance, this role develops and maintains earned value processes while supporting project teams through performance measurement and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of earned value management processes across project activities to improve visibility into project performance.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze project cost, schedule, and progress information to support integrated performance measurement.
  • Develop and maintain earned value metrics, performance indicators, and project reporting outputs that support project decision-making.
  • Monitor project performance trends and identify potential variances related to schedule, cost, labor utilization, and project execution.
  • Support forecasting activities through analysis of project performance data and projected outcomes.
  • Prepare and maintain project performance reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs that communicate project health and performance trends.
  • Assist project teams with baseline development, performance measurement structures, and change management activities impacting project controls metrics.
  • Collaborate with project controls, engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure alignment between project scope, schedule, cost, and performance measurement requirements.
  • Support project reviews by providing analysis of earned value data and identifying areas requiring corrective action or additional review.
  • Perform periodic reviews of project information systems and reporting tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project controls processes, reporting capabilities, and digital project delivery practices.
  • Provide support and guidance to project stakeholders regarding earned value methodologies, reporting processes, and performance management principles.
  • Conduct periodic site engagement activities, as required, to improve understanding of project execution status and strengthen reporting accuracy.

Qualifications / Skill Set
  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Relevant experience supporting project controls, earned value management, cost engineering, scheduling, project analytics, or project performance reporting activities.
  • Foundational understanding of earned value management principles, project controls methodologies, forecasting techniques, and performance measurement processes.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle management and the relationship between scope, schedule, cost, and performance outcomes.
  • Experience working with project controls systems, reporting platforms, scheduling applications, and analytical tools used within complex project environments.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret project performance data and identify meaningful trends.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and project performance information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to maintaining data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Ability to work within established frameworks while building increased independence and technical capability.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adoption of digital solutions that improve project execution and sustainable outcomes.
