Summary:

The Tram Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the tram system, ensuring safety, efficiency, and a superior customer experience. This position will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining equipment, and developing operational strategies to optimize tram performance. This position is ideal for a results-oriented professional with leadership skills and a passion for transportation and customer service.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee day-to-day tram operations, ensuring all safety standards and procedures are followed
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure trams are properly serviced, maintained, and meet operational standards
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the overall operations of the Tram Operations staff; communicate progress with the Director of Ops & Facilities
  • Perform all administrative functions for the Tram Operations department including onboarding, performance concerns, scheduling, payroll, hiring, training, and other related administrative functions
  • Direct and ensure areas are set up to company and tramway standards
  • Communicate the openings and closures of the tram
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning and respond to incidents or operational disruptions as necessary
  • Work with guests to ensure the best experience while visiting the Goldbelt Tram
  • Understand and adhere to company policies; ensure all Tram Operations staff are trained to these guidelines
  • Help resolve guest issues and conflicts; promote excellent customer service to all guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety protocols

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or operations management, preferably in tram or similar transportation systems
  • Proven experience in team management, safety compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Ability to successfully pass background check

Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

  • At least four (4) years of previous management experience
  • Previous experience in tram, cable car, or aerial lift operations
  • Certification in safety or transportation management
  • Experience with budget management and forecasting

WORKING CONDITIONS

Constant movement in/out of an aerial tramway and lift operation, cabin up/down an 1800 ft., constant exposure to extreme heights, and periodic exposure to dangerous equipment during emergency evacuations or power failures. Constant public interaction and communication and must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs., constant bending, lifting, stooping is required to maintain adequate supplies. The Tram is a non-smoking facility with designated outside smoking areas.
