Job Description

We are currently hiring a part-time Senior Cidery Ambassador at the Angry Orchard Cidery in Walden, NY.

The Senior Cidery Ambassador assists with daily operations; with a focus on guest experiences and bookings. This position specializes in private events and is responsible for managing the administration and coordination of private site bookings as well as public, private, and VIP tours and promotion.

What You'll Brew:

  • Support daily operations of experiences and rentals department including administration in booking software and inquiry platforms, calendars, responding to private events and tours requests in a timely manner, and day-of event management
  • General management of menu selections and BEO, site set-up, quotes, contracts, payments, event and tour sales, and coordination with other department stake-holders
  • Servest as Event Manager On-duty (EMOD) as needed for day-of private events and tours
  • Focus on supporting the Experience and Rentals manager to grow the business with marketing, tours, and selling strategies
  • Support Tour and Taproom events, new program launches and actively participates during our busiest times
  • General open and closing duties (cash drawer, guest check in, tour center)
  • Support tour center and serve as lead during shift: delegating tasks, managing floor
  • Maintain safe working environment for all Cidery employees and communicate maintenance needs
  • Educate drinkers on our facility, cider, and our R&D with specialty tours, experiences and events
  • Aid in the education and training of new employees and the continuing education of Cidery Ambassadors
  • Responsible for the overall upkeep of the tour center, tasting room, gift shop, and outdoor spaces
  • Work with the team to setup up displays, promotions, and announcements
  • Document and report incidents
  • Manage overall customer service and respond to general tour request phone calls and voicemails
  • Trouble shoot issues that occur during shift including technological, POS, draft and other problems that may occur
  • Participation in off-site events including festivals, community events and other promotions as needed
  • Must be available and onsite for weekends, evenings, special events, and holiday shifts
  • Act as a role model to other Cidery Ambassadors at all times.

Working conditions:

  • Work in a function Cidery - on a functioning farm
  • High-volume, energetic atmosphere
  • Understanding of potential risks associated with Cidery, and outdoor elements
  • Outdoor exposure to heat/cold, treehouse, and wooded walking paths
  • Must be able to work as a team, but also independently
  • Must exhibit judgement in line with company values at all times, especially during peak attendance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Administration, food and beverage experience

Physical requirements:

  • Legally allowed to consume alcohol
  • Lift 35lbs
  • Appropriate hygiene
  • Positive attitude

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in event sales and hospitality

Pay: In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $18.50 per hour. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
