Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Plattsburgh, NY
Employment Type: 6-month contract
Industry: Transportation Manufacturing
Compensation: $36/hour
Schedule: M-F, 1st/2nd Shift Rotational depending on business needs
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM-10:30 PM
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Special Process Expert to coordinate and control Special Processes (SP) across the full industrial lifecycle from tender and design to manufacturing, warranty, and maintenance. This role is critical to ensuring robust industrial performance, quality, and compliance, while supporting technology and activity transfers across sites and suppliers. The successful candidate will act as a key technical authority, working crossfunctionally with engineering, industrialization, quality, sourcing, and suppliers, while ensuring full adherence to Ethics, Compliance, and EHS standards.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead the industrialization, qualification, and deployment of Special Processes (SP), ensuring manufacturing methods, tooling, and processes meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams during product development and design reviews to incorporate manufacturing considerations, reduce risk, optimize costs, and improve producibility.
  • Manage process validation, risk assessments (FMEA), quality controls, documentation, and compliance activities to support successful project execution and serial production.
  • Partner with suppliers, sourcing, and quality teams to qualify suppliers, improve process capability, resolve quality issues, and support technology transfer initiatives.
  • Train, qualify, and mentor operators, technicians, managers, and cross-functional teams on Special Process standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance, lead root-cause investigations and audits, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, safety, and environmental performance.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial methods or industrial engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with bonding or painting
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel
