Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for a Rigging Technician. The job location is at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, McAlester Oklahoma.

Scope of Performance: Technician will help support coordinating and tracking load-testing activities for lifting equipment, rigging gear, and material handling systems. Technicians will work in all explosive and non-explosive areas as determined by management or COR. Technicians shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and track all load-testing activities for cranes, hoists, lifting devices, rigging equipment, and related systems.
  • Maintain load test schedules and ensure equipment certifications remain current.
  • Review load test results and verify compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors, testing agencies, and internal stakeholders to schedule and complete required testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of load tests, certifications, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Generate reports and provide status updates on testing schedules, certifications, and equipment readiness.
  • Ensure documentation is readily available for audits, inspections, and customer reviews.
  • Identify upcoming certification expirations and proactively schedule testing to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure project requirements, timelines, and expectations are met.

Education and Experience - Required:

  • Experience with rigging operations and load-testing requirements for cranes, hoists, lifting devices, or industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, ASME standards, and industry best practices related to lifting and rigging equipment.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, or maintenance management systems used to track inspections and certifications.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to gain/maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and Respirator Fit test
  • Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
  • Sufficient knowledge of mathematics
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75lbs)
