Description

As our Power Systems Engineer II, you will help MISO's Operators and neighboring grid partners perform accurate, reliable congestion and transmission coordination so they can ensure safe, efficient, and predictable realtime system operations across regional boundaries.

In one year as our Power Systems Engineer II, you will know you're successful if:



  • You can independently coordinate and maintain core Seams processes (AFC, IDC, NNL, flowgates) with accuracy and timeliness
  • You have built strong, trusted relationships with MISO Operators, Market personnel, and neighboring RTO counterparts
  • You have contributed meaningfully to at least one improvement initiative, process enhancement, or crossteam project
  • You communicate effectively and consistently deliver highquality work with minimal supervision


We are looking for engineers who have:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
  • Two or more years of related work experience
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work comfortably with complex system data, paired with curiosity and adaptability to learn and collaborate across internal and external teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the willingness to support a rotating oncall schedule depending on level.


We would also prefer engineers who have experience with power systems modeling tools such as PSSe, TARA, MUST, or similar platforms.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $84,000.00 - $109,000.00 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
