Lenovo AI Technology Center (LATC) Overview

The Lenovo AI Technology Center (LATC) is Lenovo's global AI Center of Excellence, driving the company's transformation into an AI-first organization. LATC builds and operates core AI platforms and technologies that enable intelligent experiences across Lenovo's full product portfolio, spanning devices, edge, and cloud. Working in close partnership with Lenovo's business groups and product teams, LATC translates advanced AI innovation into scalable, production-ready capabilities that power real-world products and solutions.

Role Overview

The Executive Director, Technical Product Operations is a senior leadership, matrix-managed role responsible for end-to-end product delivery and execution across LATC's AI platforms and cross-business group engagements. This role provides a unified view of execution, ensuring that complex, multi-team initiatives move from strategy and architectural intent to delivered, production-ready outcomes.

Operating at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and product delivery, this leader establishes strong execution rigor, drives decisive action in ambiguous and matrix-managed environments, and enables senior leadership with clear visibility into progress, risks, and delivery commitments. The role serves as a critical connector between platform development and business group adoption, ensuring alignment, accountability, and momentum at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Product Delivery & Execution Leadership

  • Own end-to-end delivery of LATC AI platform initiatives, ensuring commitments are well-defined, aligned, and delivered on schedule
  • Serve as the senior execution leader for complex, multi-team programs spanning platform development and business group engagements
  • Establish clear delivery plans, milestones, and success criteria across interdependent teams
  • Drive timely decision-making to resolve risks, blockers, and execution gaps
  • Platform & Cross-Business Group Alignment
  • Provide execution leadership across engagements with IDG, SSG, PCSD, MBG, and ISG
  • Ensure alignment between platform capabilities, architectural direction, and business group requirements
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and drive resolution of escalations that affect delivery outcomes

Execution Visibility & Leadership Communication

  • Establish and maintain a single, authoritative view of execution status across LATC initiatives
  • Deliver clear, executive-ready reporting on progress, risks, trade-offs, and delivery outlook
  • Translate complex technical and operational information into concise narratives for senior stakeholders

Operational Excellence & Delivery Rigor

  • Strengthen product operations practices, including delivery cadence, execution reviews, and operational mechanisms
  • Improve execution efficiency by identifying process gaps, reducing friction, and driving continuous improvement
  • Partner with technical leaders to ensure architectural intent is consistently reflected in delivered systems

Organizational Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a senior leader within LATC, modeling strong executive presence and accountability
  • Partner closely with the VP of AI and LATC leadership to support portfolio planning and sequencing of investments
  • Operate effectively in a global, matrixed environment, collaborating across geographies and cultures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in product delivery, technical program leadership, engineering operations, or platform execution roles
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional, and cross-organization initiatives in product-driven technology environments
  • Strong technical foundation with experience working closely with software engineering and architecture teams
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed, global organizations
  • Executive-level communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and influencing decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML platforms, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure
  • Background in device OEM, cloud platform, systems, or technology product organizations
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management, execution metrics, and delivery governance frameworks
  • Experience operating across client, edge, and cloud computing environments
