The Art Therapist role within the UH Ahuja Medical Center and Lake West Medical Center offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and significantly assists individuals with various issues.

We currently offer an opportunity for a Full Time Days, Art Therapist to support adult patients and families in Beachwood and Willoughby.

What You Will Do

  • Maintains professional behavior and UH core qualities.
  • Provides appropriate patient and family focused, relationship-based care following American Art Therapy Association standards of care (assess needs, implement, and evaluate art therapy interventions and document outcomes).
  • Collaborates and communicates with the healthcare team to deliver patient and family care.
  • Participates in trainings, team meetings, rounds as appropriate to function as a team-member and uphold the AT/MT Department and UH system missions. This may also include supervision of graduate interns.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment (attends professional development opportunities, keeps up to date with relevant research and publications, continuing education).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
