- Master's degree in Business Analytics, Analytics, Data Science, or a closely related field (strongly preferred)
- Experience designing and supporting data ecosystems that prioritize data integrity, usability, and stakeholder value
- Demonstrated experience working with data collection platforms (e.g., Qualtrics) and downstream reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience with data preparation and analysis tools (e.g., R, Python), with emphasis on analytical problem-solving, data interpretation, and decision support
- Experience translating business processes into data structures, workflows, and reporting solutions
- Experience working with external vendors, application providers, or development teams to refine system functionality and user experience

| Position Summary |
The Analytics Systems Strategist plays a central role in shaping and maintaining the Institute for Disaster Management's (
IDM) data ecosystem to support research and service programs. This position focuses on ensuring the integrity, usability, and strategic value of data across its lifecycle - from collection and system design to transformation and stakeholder-facing reporting. The Analytics Systems Strategist plans, designs, and implements comprehensive data ecosystems in collaboration with
IDM Faculty and Staff to meet grant deliverables.
This role serves as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions, working closely with internal stakeholders and external application providers to design efficient, user-centered data processes. The Analytics Systems Strategist emphasizes data quality at the point of entry, thoughtful system and workflow design, and the delivery of actionable insights through automated reporting and dashboards. |
