SJob Summary

Join our growing neuroscience team as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist and play a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring patients with complex neurological disorders.

Perform standard and complex electroencephalogram (EEG) studies across a large community hospital, caring for adult patients in inpatient units, intensive care units, emergency services, and procedural areas. Working alongside neurologists, epileptologists, intensivists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary care teams, you'll provide high-quality diagnostic testing that directly influences clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, portable, stat, and continuous EEG (cEEG) studies for hospitalized patients in accordance with departmental and professional standards.
  • Acquire high-quality EEG recordings while recognizing normal and abnormal waveforms, artifacts, and significant clinical events requiring timely communication with the interpreting neurologist.
  • Prepare patients for testing by obtaining relevant medical histories, explaining procedures, and providing compassionate patient and family education.
  • Perform EEG testing in a variety of inpatient settings, including medical-surgical units, intensive care units, emergency services, and procedural areas.
  • Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain EEG equipment while ensuring accurate electrode application and optimal recording quality.
  • Review and document EEG recordings, patient observations, and clinical events to support physician interpretation and timely diagnosis.
  • Collaborate closely with neurologists, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care and support rapid clinical decision-making.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental policies, accreditation standards, infection prevention practices, and patient safety protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development to remain current with evolving neurodiagnostic practices.

Education Requirements:
* Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Registry eligible for one of the following specialty areas: *EEG (Electroencecephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM) *EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.) *Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM) *Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV *Polysomnography (RPSGT) *Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
Professional Experience Requirements:
* If completion of an acceptable program in neurophysiology: No prior experience required.
* If a High School diploma or GED: Two (2) years of relevant experience.
