POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Executive plays a key role in the successful growth of KFI, focusing primarily on marketing, business/project development, and project management. The successful candidate is expected to work within a team environment, lead teams, interface with KFI clients, and collaborate with other project team members.

Our clients look for us to lead large complex projects from concept to completion, including startup, check-out, and commissioning. The Project Executive supports that process by interfacing with the customer and ensuring their end goals are met.

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Serve as "Project Executive" on certain larger IPA projects, assisting Project Managers and strategically engaging with clients.
  • Identify opportunities to diversify both the client and industry base served by the Industrial group.
  • As requested, serve as Project Manager for clients that require a more seasoned and experienced individual at the helm.
  • Actively contribute to business development activities and proposals.
  • Through a variety of marketing and business development activities, contribute to building the backlog of opportunities.
  • Attend customer and prospect meetings, engaging in discussions to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Attend conferences and trade shows, networking and identifying new leads and prospects.
  • Lead project teams and manage sub-consultants.
  • Collaborate and partner with other Project Executives across the organization to share best practices, align strategies, and support cross-functional project success.
  • Manage projects including responsibility for tracking KPI's for projects and contribute to QA/QC for IPA projects.
  • Help drive the development of projects through FEED studies and preliminary engineering, thereby ensuring a common understanding of project scope, feasibility and funding requirements.
  • Act as a mentor by supporting the growth and development of other staff members.
  • Focus on understanding the P&L statements of our customers, planning and preparation for customer visits and business development calls, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 12-15+ years of experience post-graduation to include hands-on technical engineering, project management, and business development within the design-bid-build, construction, and/or engineer consulting spaces.
  • Strong technical skills and the demonstrated ability to understand and apply engineering and design principles and standards.
  • Effective meeting management skills.
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills. Capable of communicating in both large and small group settings.
  • Demonstrated deep business acumen and ability to engage others and build credibility at a senior level.
  • Superior project management skills and operations experience at a plant, manufacturing company, co-generation, or central energy plant.
  • Construction experience, or significant time spent on a construction site.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: plant operations, construction, higher education, utilities generation.
  • Represent the company in a professional matter.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others, including senior business leaders and customers.
  • Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application, including MS Office.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Travel: May include up to 25% domestic travel, with average requiring 1-2 days every 3 to 4 weeks.

Preferred

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification or willingness to pursue this designation.

Working Conditions

  • Some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.

Salary Range: $142,000 - $177,000 annually. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications, experience, work location, and education. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
