Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Pitch Team Manager (Finance Sector) based in any of our U.S. offices.

The Opportunity: The Finance Pitch Team Manager, a member of the Business Development Department, will lead the development of strategic proposals, pitches, and RFP responses for the Firm's Finance Sector, with primary responsibility for supporting the Public Finance, Structured Finance, and Banking & Finance practice groups.

Working closely with attorneys, Finance Marketing Managers, and cross-departmental teams, this role will develop tailored, client-focused submissions that effectively communicate the Firm's capabilities. The role also provides leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Finance Pitch Specialists, ensuring high-quality work product, efficient workflow management, and timely execution of all opportunities. While primarily focused on Finance Sector pursuits, the Pitch Team Manager will also support firmwide and cross-practice proposals, including strategic panel opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic proposals, pitches, presentations, and RFP responses for the Public Finance, Structured Finance, and Banking & Finance practice groups.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, Finance Marketing Managers, and business professionals to create tailored, client-focused submissions that effectively communicate the Firm's experience, capabilities, and value proposition.
  • Draft and manage compliance-driven proposal responses, ensuring adherence to client requirements, procurement guidelines, evaluation criteria, and submission instructions.
  • Serve as the primary project manager for finance-related pursuits, coordinating timelines, deliverables, stakeholder input, and submission logistics to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and workflow oversight for Finance Pitch Specialists, ensuring consistent quality and professional development.
  • Review and edit proposal content for accuracy, clarity, persuasiveness, and compliance with Firm standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including in-house counsel, IT, HR, finance, and client development to gather information and develop comprehensive responses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve proposal processes, content management, and team efficiencies through best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Support firmwide and cross-practice strategic pursuits, including panel appointments and other high-profile business development opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of pitch and proposal experience, with a preference for at least three years' experience in a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or some other communications-related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with federal, state or local government procurement proposals preferred.
  • Exemplary leadership, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple complex projects while remaining client-service focused, detail oriented and demonstrating superior judgment and decision-making skills especially under tight deadlines.
  • Superior writing skills, especially in the setting of pitch and proposal or marketing collateral context.
  • Demonstrated exemplary professional communication skills across verbal and written mediums.
  • Excellent computer/Internet skills, with exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to become proficient in the use of the following marketing systems and tools: InTapp OnePlace, Orrick.ai, Foundation, Orrick's Biography Tool, ServiceNow Project Management Platform; Orrick's Portal; and other relevant firm systems.
  • Experience with document management systems (e.g., Net Docs) a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is:

  • New York City, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco $135,000 - $160,000
  • Washington DC, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Boston, and Seattle $125,000 - $155,000
  • All Other US Locations $115,000 - $150,000

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
