The Orthopedic Technician is a specially trained allied health professional who assists orthopedic surgeons working under their direction.
Position Details:
Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification(s): Recommend certification by the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: *Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals in which orthopedic surgeons work. *Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology. *Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology. *Must be capable and willing to keep patients' films and medical records confidential. *Responsible for practicing stewardship in the use of supplies. *Ability to communicate effectively. Must be effective in both oral and written communications. *Must possess the ability to meet and communicate with patients, physicians and visitors courteously. *Must be a team worker. *Must be able to relate well to other people and be tolerant of their conditions. *Must actively promote harmony and good public image. *Must be able to effectively delegate tasks.
