Corrections Community Center Monitor - Johnstown CCC

This position supports a safe, well-managed Community Corrections Center by monitoring reentrants and maintaining daily operations. The work ensures that the center remains secure, orderly, and ready to help individuals return to the community. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties:

• Safety Oversight: Monitor reentrant behavior, maintain logs, and conduct searches to support a secure environment
• Orientation Support: Guide new reentrants through center rules, services, room assignments, and required checks
• Substance Testing: Administer and document breathalyzer and urinalysis tests when individuals return to the center
• Public Interaction: Provide information to visitors and respond to concerns with professionalism and sensitivity
• Agency Coordination: Serve as a contact for law enforcement and participate in legal proceedings as needed
• Facility Readiness: Inspect living and common areas to maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,081.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to work in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
• This position requires shift work. You must be willing and able to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to: public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
• One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include, but are not limited to: performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the military)

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
