DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays an important role in preparing meals and keeping dining areas clean. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Food Preparation: Prepare, portion, and plate food items to support daily meal service
- Tray Assembly: Assemble resident trays by reading special diet codes and ticket information
- Dining Support: Deliver trays, set up serving areas, and restock items throughout meal service
- Sanitation Duties: Clean dishes, equipment, tables, floors, and food preparation areas
- Equipment Care: Operate and clean dish machines, carts, refrigerators, and related tools
- Record Keeping: Document food usage, temperatures, and meal counts as required

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 2nd shift (12:00 PM to 8:30 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and weekends.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous food service worker experience
- Willingness to work in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania
- Willingness to work full-time from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM with rotating days and weekends to be determined
- Food service experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, restaurant, or other food service operation
- Work experience interacting with patients, residents, or customers while serving food/cleaning in patient/resident rooms or a dining room setting
- Work experience with food safety and sanitation in a dietary department
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
