Job Description

The Kummer College of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development seeks a dynamic Marketing and Outreach Specialist to join our team. This position will play a key role in increasing the visibility of the existing Kummer College departments and the new Jaggi School of Business at Missouri S&T by working closely with external partners such as high school counselors, teachers, and admission teams at Missouri community colleges. The role will also focus on building a social media presence to attract undergraduate students and hosting events that will help elevate the college's reputation. The ideal candidate will be high energy, with strong communication skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with educational partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop and execute marketing strategies for the Kummer College departments and the Jaggi School of Business
  • Using tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite, create engaging marketing materials including brochures, flyers, and digital content
  • Manage social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement for the Kummer College departments and the Jaggi School of Business.

Event Management:

  • Work with faculty and educational partners to identify opportunities to create events for the Kummer College departments and the Jaggi School of Business that will positively impact enrollment and brand awareness
  • Coordinate all aspects of events, including room arrangements, catering, and AV/tech setup
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, speakers, and instructors

Recruiting:

  • Build a comprehensive plan to visit high schools, make travel arrangements, and conduct visits to partnering schools and establish new partnerships
  • Work with admissions and enrollment management to coordinate where needed but will need to develop a recruitment strategy, review and analyze data to determine which fairs and events to attend and which schools to visit. Travel to recruitment events and college fairs around Missouri and surrounding states, some of which will require overnight stays
  • Give presentations in classrooms or to prospective student groups as needed across the state of Missouri (in person or via Zoom)
  • Utilizing Slate CRM to track prospects and applicants and bring new ideas to the table to increase outreach
  • Build bridges between community college partners and Kummer College faculty/staff with the purpose of updating articulation agreements to streamline the transfer process for students
  • Develop a team of student ambassadors to assist in spreading positive awareness regarding the Kummer College departments and the Jaggi School of Business
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Education or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing, event coordination, outside sales, or related roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite, and/or experience with Slate
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Comfortable giving presentations to large groups
  • Experience in social media marketing
  • Enthusiastic candidates who work well independently as well as in a team
  • Highly organized and adaptable to change given the nature of the position
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $24.00-$26.44 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
