Are you ready to sprinkle some magic in the kitchen? As our Culinary Wizard (Lead Cook) at Newport Healthcare, you'll be the mastermind behind creating and presenting scrumptious meals and snacks that delight our clients, families, and guests. With your culinary flair and a dash of fun, you'll help foster a warm and inviting dining atmosphere while ensuring we meet our high standards of culinary excellence!

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen Opening Act: Kick off the day by opening the kitchen and setting the stage for a fantastic culinary performance. At the end of the day, you'll close it down, ensuring everything is in tip-top shape for the next show!

Team Cheerleader: Communicate with the Chef about any performance or disciplinary issues, keeping the team motivated and focused on the fun of cooking together.

Task Juggler: Assign tasks during shifts like a pro, ensuring everyone knows their role in our culinary adventure and that the kitchen runs like a well-oiled machine.

Meal Magician: Prepare and present delightful breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks daily. Your creations will be healthful, nutritious, and organic-because we believe that great food can be good for you too!

Cleanliness Crusader: Keep our kitchen sparkling clean! You'll ensure everything from the fridges to the floors is spotless after each meal prep. A clean kitchen is a happy kitchen!

Health & Safety Superhero: Make sure our kitchen adheres to state health and hygiene requirements and Newport Healthcare standards, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience for everyone.

Culinary Collaborator: Join in on baking or cooking groups as directed, sharing your culinary skills and learning new tricks to enhance our delicious offerings!


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One and a half (1.5) to three (3) years' experience in various kitchen settings preferred.

Compensation for this role ranges from $23.88-$30.39 per hour depending on education and experience.
