As a Site Coordinator in our Before & After School Program, you'll lead a team that creates a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for elementary-aged children. You'll guide daily program operations, coach and support staff, and build strong relationships with families and school partners.

And the best part? This year-round position continues into the summer, where you'll step into a leadership role in our Y Day Camp program!



A Typical Day Might Include:

Leading and supporting your team to deliver high-quality, enriching activities

Ensuring program safety and compliance with licensed childcare regulations

Building strong connections with students and families

Managing schedules, materials, and administrative needs

Inspiring kids through play, learning, and meaningful mentorship

Qualifications

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early talent pursuing careers in education or recreation, or for individuals seeking to gain management experience. Experience as a Site Coordinator provides valuable skills working directly with youth and in a supervisory capacity that can lead to growth in a variety of fields.




  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) qualifications for a Site Coordinator.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience leading youth programs, activities, or groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment for children and families.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


Requirements

  • Must provide and maintain all documentation and certifications required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
  • Must successfully complete all required trainings, certifications, and program orientation in accordance with EEC regulations and YMCA of the North Shore standards.
  • Ability to uphold YMCA policies, procedures, and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to actively participate in program activities, including standing, walking, bending, and engaging with children throughout the day.
  • Must be able to respond appropriately and immediately to unexpected situations and emergencies.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of awareness and supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments as program activities require.
