THE ROLE:

We are seeking a SerDes Application Engineer to drive the bring-up, characterization, and customer enablement of our high-speed serial interface IP. You will be the technical bridge between SerDes IP design teams and SoC/system integrators, owning the end-to-end success of PCIe and Ethernet links from first silicon through volume production. This role combines deep PHY expertise with hands-on lab work and direct customer engagement.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is self-motivated to work independently as well as collaboratively with engineers across a variety of AMD design, verification, and validation teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead first-silicon bring-up of SerDes PHYs PCIe and Ethernet protocols
  • Serve as primary technical escalation point for customer SerDes issues across pre-silicon, bring-up, and production phases
  • Drive PCIe compliance testing Ethernet IEEE compliance, and interop testing
  • Develop automated test scripts and regression suites for link stability, retry behavior, and stress conditions
  • Partner with SerDes design, firmware, SI/PI, and package teams to feed lab learnings back into next-gen IP
  • Hands-on experience with various lab equipment for silicon bring-up and validation

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiar with industry standards such as Ethernet and PCIe
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with pronounced attention to details

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred
