Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to hematology patients under the supervision of a physician, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management. Exercise independent clinical judgment in accordance with Virginia Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant licensure regulations and established Scope of Practice protocols. Perform high-quality clinical evaluations and patient management activities while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with applicable state and federal guidelines. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and preventive care strategies. Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and other activities that support advancement of patient care. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect across all disciplines to optimize patient outcomes. Utilize evidence-based standards, clinical guidelines, and best practices to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care delivery. Analyze and incorporate clinical data, outcomes, and performance metrics to support continuous quality improvement efforts. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to colleagues, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and professional development. Demonstrate leadership through effective decision-making, problem-solving, and participation in departmental and organizational initiatives. Maintain professional competency through ongoing education, certification, and lifelong learning activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master's in advanced clinical Practice or graduate of a post master's certificate program for nurse practitioners, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing. For physician Assistants, graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
- Licensure: Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License(depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances)
- Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and ability to enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
- Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
