Description

The Studio Content Producer is responsible for creating and managing high-quality visual content within an in-house studio environment, including video and photography assets that support retail, e-commerce, and marketing initiatives. This role combines creative direction with hands-on production, overseeing content from concept through final delivery while ensuring efficiency, consistency, and brand alignment for all books published under the Printers Row Publishers Group (PRPG) imprints. In this role, the Content Producer will also lead planning and execution of offsite photoshoots, including photo research, set and prop selection, purchase and cataloguing. After asset review, content producer will lead the organization, tagging and maintenance of all images in PRPG's online image database, PhotoShelter.

What You Will Be Doing:

Photography & Videography

  • Establish and maintain visual standards, style guidelines, and content consistency; shoot and edit product shots in well-balanced, sharp compositions.
  • Create new style guides as needed for new formats.
  • Manage and adjust lighting to reduce shadowing and provide an even tone throughout the composition.
  • Using Adobe Photoshop, edit, resize, and color correct final images.
  • Ideate, shoot, and edit short video projects using established style guidelines for e-commerce websites.
  • Develop concepts and shoot short videos for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • As needed, shoot specialty photos for retailer presentations, catalog covers, or B2B/B2C industry events like San Diego ComiCon, LA Times Festival of Books, and Independent Bookstore Day.
  • Partner with internal teams to plan content that supports campaigns and distribution needs.
  • Act as lead contact to any photography and videography vendors, tracking project details, planning, and final product edits.

E-Commerce

  • Prioritize, select, and submit photos for use on the Faire.com website.
  • For custom and first-to-market titles, shoot and select photos for retailer sites including: Walmart.com, Sam's Club.com, Costco.com, and Target.com.

Asset & Content Management

  • Manage all aspects of asset management in PhotoShelter online database as subject matter expert.
  • Train PRPG staff for search and download of photos in PhotoShelter.
  • Maintain production calendars, shot/video lists, and tracking documents.
  • Track photo and visual asset planning from initial brainstorm to production, approval, and completion.
  • Catalog, file, and upload images and digital assets to the appropriate servers.
  • Format and upload digital assets for distribution to 3rd party web sites and distributors.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assets to internal teams and external partners.
  • Assist with social media and website reporting on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with the development of graphics for marketing, sales, or publicity for various materials, including presentations, mailers, trade show banners, promotional items, corrugate/POP displays, in-store signage, etc.
  • Manage studio resources, including inventory of props and equipment, and recommendations for updates.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in photography education, training or experience is required.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and Premiere is preferred.
  • Proficiency in macOS operating systems is preferred.
  • Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles of photography, including camera (Canon) operation and settings, lighting, color balance, composition, and current trends, is required.
  • Knowledge/usage of photo database programs a plus, especially PhotoShelter is preferred.
  • Must be able to take direction and apply feedback, as well as to conceptualize, set up, and organize projects independently.
  • Project management skills; ability to identify and assess issues and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
  • Familiarity with publishing industry terms is preferred.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • A methodical and organized approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, multitask effectively, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, gather and analyze information effectively, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • The work performed is in an office environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Regularly interacts with customers, vendors, licensors, internal departments, and cross-functional team members, including coworkers, managers, and supervisors.
Salary: $80,000.00 - $83,000.00
