SUMMARY The Lead Quality Assurance Inspector assumes the Supervisor role in the absence of the regular Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description. Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Perform all duties and responsibilities required of A, B, and C Quality Assurance Technicians. Performs a variety of physical testing of product, including but not limited to; impact, quick burst, flattening, acetone immersion and all other required QA testing Completes paperwork and reports as needed. Uses a variety of tools and instruments to assess and inspect product. Checks the quality of finished goods, including those loaded for delivery, and returned goods for acceptance to stock. Reviews stocked pipe periodically and identifies damaged product to be removed from inventory. In the absence of the QA Supervisor; represents Westlake Pipe & Fittings during agency audits. Maintains communication of Quality issues to Plant Management in absence of QA Supervisor. Must maintain area to be clean and free from safety hazards. Sets a premier example to others as to safe work habits, attitude, and company goals. Duties are not limited to this job description; you may perform other duties as instructed by the Supervisor. Other duties may be assigned to assist in daily plant operations. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Only in absence of regular supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED. Three years' experience or training/education in production and/or quality control. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
