DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to refer injured athletes to physician for continue management of their care. Wrap, tape, and provide first aid to athletes as needed. Coordinate care for injured athletes by providing direct access into the University of Missouri Health Care system. Develop home exercise rehabilitation programs for athletes in addition to managing and treating injuries in the Rec Complex Athletic Training Room Prepare and maintain various records, reports and information on athletic injuries, treatments, etc. Serve as a Preceptor in the undergraduate athletic training program as a clinical site for athletic training students from the University of Missouri ATEP. Participate in continuing education/professional development activities May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) by the Board of Certification (BOC). Athletic Trainer licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
