Position Highlights The Athletics Department is dedicated to excellence in collegiate sports, building a modern model of intercollegiate athletics fostering integrity, innovation, and student-athlete success.

The University of Arizona is seeking an Assistant Coach, Softball who will assist in the management and administration of the softball program and conduct the program in accordance with the philosophy and rules and regulations of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Big 12 Conference, and the NCAA. This position reports to the Head Coach, Women's Softball.

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel for competition and recruiting. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing a program that is competitive at the national level.
  • Manage and execute short- and long-term recruiting strategies.
  • Collect and organize scouting information on opponents for offensive in-season game preparation.
  • Take the lead in scouting opponents utilizing video feedback systems.
  • Use performance technologies in the development of hitters.
  • Promote the academic progress of student-athletes by working closely with the Office of Academic Services.
  • Budget accountability.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and University of Arizona rules and compliance requirements related to this position.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to develop and lead student-athletes.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities, and successfully manage multiple priority projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels and project a positive, professional attitude.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One (1) year of experience coaching.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coaching elite athletes.
  • Three (3) years of coaching experience at the college level.
  • Experience using performance technologies and data-driven development programs.
