The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology is a world-leading neuroscience department where discoveries at the molecular, anatomical, and physiological levels are seamlessly integrated to the development of new treatments for neurological diseases. Your Role on the Team Under general supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer, the incumbent independently evaluates and processes requisitions for the departments of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics and Anatomy & Neurobiology. Purchase transactions range across a wide variety of research and office materials, laboratory supplies, services, and equipment that is often of a technical and specialized nature. Procurement responsibilities include but are not limited to identifying potential vendors, obtaining quotations, evaluating proposals, coordination with Purchasing and Risk Services for orders in excess of $5000, and problem resolution related to order, delivery, returned goods, and/or billing. Purchasing responsibilities also include maintaining accurate and complete supporting documentation per campus guidelines. The incumbent serves as the Department Buyer in UCIBuy+ responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving purchase requisitions initiated by faculty and staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with department and University policy. Responsibilities include extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures as they pertain to procurement, accounting, basic contract and grant regulations, and business rules. The incumbent will serve as a liaison for purchasing and accounts payable issues, interacting with faculty, staff, campus purchasing, vendors, accounts payable, and department administration.
