Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here's how the Security Officer role will make an impact: Key responsibilities for this role include:
Ensure employees comply with established security policies, procedures, and programs. Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic on company premises and enforce parking regulations. Support contract security personnel and respond to operational questions or concerns. Control and document visitor, contractor, vendor, and employee access to Viatris property. Monitor the company's electronic access-control and closed-circuit television systems. Respond to security, safety, access-control, and facility alarm conditions in accordance with established procedures. Conduct security patrols and identify, document, and report unusual activity, security concerns, and policy violations. Complete all required Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) training, testing, and annual recertification requirements. Immediately notify the Security Manager or designated management representative of security incidents, operational problems, or other significant concerns occurring on Viatris property. Complete and submit accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, forms, logs, and checklists. Protect confidential and sensitive information and consistently demonstrate integrity, discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism. Assist employees, visitors, contractors, vendors, and emergency responders as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, law enforcement, emergency management, or a related discipline is preferred. Up to two years of relevant military, law-enforcement, corporate-security, aviation-security, or contract-security experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered. Significant military, law-enforcement, or security experience may be considered in place of formal education based on organizational requirements. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have held a valid driver's license for at least two years before the application date. Must be able to successfully complete all required background checks, security clearances, training programs, and site-specific certifications. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs. May require use of hands and arms to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment or other materials required for the position. Proficiency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English is required. Basic proficiency with computers, electronic security systems, email, and report-writing applications is required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive security-related information. This shift is for Monday - Friday, 3PM-11PM. This person must have flexibility to cover other shifts periodically if the need arises. Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
