The Institute for Human Development (IHD) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).

Job Description

The Temporary Student Operations Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). This position assists with organizing and maintaining files, data entry and cleanup, survey preparation and management, record keeping, and general office support. Responsibilities include filing and organizing documents, reviewing and cleaning datasets for accuracy, assisting with survey distribution and tracking, preparing materials for projects and meetings, and supporting staff with routine operational tasks.

NOTE: This position is fully grant funded and contingent on continued funding. This is a temporary, short-term position expected to conclude work on and not extend past August 31, 2026. This is a part-time position scheduled at .5 FTE expected to work an average of 20 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace applications.
  • Experience entering, managing, or reviewing data in spreadsheets or databases.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with surveys, research projects, data collection, or program evaluation is preferred.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong time-management skills.
  • Interest in public health, disability services, education, social sciences, or related fields.
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 to $16.00 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Grade: the Temporary Professional title is not graded within the GGS.
