Quality Engineer, Field

• Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to drive process and product improvements; use of QA methodologies to manage andfacilitateissue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions

• Monitorproductsfield performance,identifytrending issues

• Perform technical root-cause analysis of vehicle systems (Chassis, LV/HV, FW, Thermal)

• Drive containment and corrective actions implementation into manufacturing line / design / supplier

• Communicate field performance of the engineering system, gather buy-in from engineering peers and leadership on improvement priorities and urgency

• Participate in continuous improvement activities and take preventiveactions

• Share Lessons Learned frompreviousfield issues; Provide upfront feedback byparticipatingin design reviews to ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability issues areidentifiedand risks mitigated. (DFMEAs)

• Take part in ongoing optimization of the products and processes (performance, cost, technology)

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical; Electrical, Mechatronic; Power Electronics, Electronics), or equivalent experience

• Prior applicable experience desired; preferably in a hands-on role such as Failure Analysis/ Manufacturing/ Quality / Service in consumer electronics or automotive

• Specific training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, etc.

• For entry level candidates, Co-ops, or participation in student competitions such as Formula SAE, BajaSAE;Solarvehicle

• The successful candidate for this position must have a broad technical background with the ability to work with engineering, manufacturing, service, and suppliers across a widevariety of issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement toestablisheffective working relationships within Tesla and outside

• Exceptional problem solving and Failure Analysis, strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

• Ability to use tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data

• Programming Languages & Tools:SQL,Python, Minitab, JMP or similar are a strong plus

• Ability, willingness to travel domestically, and internationally (5% to 10%)

• Must be detail oriented, effectively handle multiple priorities, have a strong qualitymindsetandhave the ability tomeet tight deadlines
