SHIFT: Day (United States of America)Seeking Breakthrough Makers About the Laboratory The Leukodystrophy Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Research Postdoctoral Fellow to participate in research focused on understanding disease mechanisms and developing novel therapeutic approaches for leukodystrophies. The laboratory of Dr. Adeline Vanderver investigates the pathogenesis and treatment of multiple leukodystrophies, including Hypomyelination with Atrophy of the Basal Ganglia and Cerebellum (H-ABC), Aicardi-Goutieres Syndrome (AGS), Metachromatic Leukodystrophy, BLOC1S1-related Leukodystrophy, and Alexander Disease. The laboratory utilizes a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, including transgenic mouse models, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based disease models, live-cell imaging, spatial molecular profiling, and other advanced molecular and cellular approaches. The successful candidate will support basic and translational research projects within the Leukodystrophy Center and will have opportunities to collaborate with leading investigators in the field, as well as access to a variety of training opportunities, career development programs, and mentorship resources designed to support scientific and professional growth. The position offers participation in grant-funded research programs, manuscript preparation, and attendance and presentation at national and international scientific meetings. The Research Postdoctoral Fellow will work independently within a highly collaborative and fast-paced research environment under the mentorship of Dr. Adeline Vanderver and senior research scientists. Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, maintaining accurate research records, analyzing and interpreting data, preparing manuscripts and scientific reports, and contributing to grant applications. The Research Postdoctoral Fellowwill also be expected to mentor junior laboratory members and assist in fostering a collaborative research environment. Candidates should have a strong background in neuroscience, neurobiology, molecular biology, or a related field.
