Save the Children

For over 100 years, Save the Children has been fighting for the rights of children. The right to a healthy start in life. To have access to education. To be in a safe environment, protected from harm. We work in some of the world's hardest-to-reach places - over 100 countries, including the U.S. No matter what your role is, when you join Save the Children, you're creating positive, irreversible change for children, and the future we all share.

The Role

As the UN Advocacy and Global Diplomacy Intern, you will be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will support Save the Children's New York based global advocacy and diplomacy work, with a particular focus on children affected by armed conflict, humanitarian crises, and other major global policy debates affecting children.

The New York Advocacy Hub works with Member States, UN agencies, civil society partners and other stakeholders to influence political action for children through the United Nations, including the Security Council, General Assembly and other multilateral processes. You will support the team by monitoring UN meetings and developments, conducting research and stakeholder analysis, preparing concise advocacy and briefing materials, supporting events and meetings, and helping the team maintain strong systems for follow up, coordination and information management.
