Security Operations Manager

Overview

First Coast Security Services is seeking a Security Operations Manager (SOM) to lead an onsite security team at a large-scale client site. This full-time, site-based role oversees daily operations, incident response, staffing, training compliance, and client reporting across a layered team that includes supervisors, SOC operators, and support coordinators.

Job Description

  • Manage and develop the full onsite security team, holding all levels accountable to performance and conduct standards.
  • Lead crisis response and serve as incident commander for all on-site escalations.
  • Oversee site budget and staffing; deploy additional resources only with prior client authorization.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and current on client policies, post orders, and required procedures.
  • Deliver routine and ad hoc operational reports and briefings to client security leadership.
  • Implement and enforce shift handover procedures and daily documented supervisory post visits.
  • Maintain a site-wide communications plan and ensure confidentiality and privacy standards are upheld.
  • Interview, select, and manage the training and performance of assigned security personnel.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of security experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience leading teams in high-security environments such as data centers, tech campuses, or critical infrastructure sites.
  • Proven crisis response and incident command capability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable briefing senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with access control systems, CCTV, and SOC platforms.
  • Valid state security license or ability to obtain prior to start.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check including criminal history and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a vendor-side security manager embedded at an enterprise client site.
  • SOC management experience including alarm monitoring, dispatch, and audit records.
  • CPP, PSP, or equivalent security management certification.
