We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Mail Clerk. The successful candidate will support Mail Services and prepare, process and distribute incoming, outgoing, internal mail, including UPS, Fed-Ex, etc. parcel. Delivers and assists with other mailing problems. Other responsibilities include maintaining proper mailing procedures, equipment operations, and providing proper security of postal meters and record maintenance.

Normal Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess and able to retain a valid up-to-date AZ driver's license
  • Mail room and/or package delivery experience preferred
  • Must have verbal communication skills
  • Perform basic math calculations
  • Perform basic computer skills
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and lift up to50 pounds on regular basis
  • Work harmoniously with fellow workers

There will be a three-part testing procedure employed for this position. The first step will be a written Technical Skills test. Once the first objective has been fulfilled, the second step will be a lifting assessment. The final step in this process will be a behavioral based core competency interview. Each step of the process much be passed in order to progress to the next step.

We are providing a study outline to prepare for the written technical skills test, lifting assessment and the core competency interview. The outline is designed to maximize test results and centralize study times in the areas listed below:

TECHNICAL SKILLS TEST OUTLINE

Knowledge of the following basic mathematics to include:

  • Addition
  • Subtraction
  • Multiplication
  • Division
  • Fractions
  • Percentages
  • Word Problems

LIFTING ASSESSMENT

We will assess your capabilities and process of lifting materials in an efficient and safe manner.

Behavioral Based Interview

The interview is a behavioral based interview incorporating Tucson Electric Power Core Competencies. In this process we believe that past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior and more recent behavior is a better predictor of future behavior than older behavior, and that long-standing trends are better predictors of behavior than isolated incidents. We therefore have patterned the questions during the interview to solicit behavior patterns that indicate with high predictability whether the candidate can perform the job as required. This type of interview is different than those that you may have taken in the past.

Position Description:

This position will prepare, process and distribute incoming, internal, outgoing mail and UPS, FED-EX, etc., deliveries and assist others with mailing questions. Other responsibilities include maintaining proper mailing procedures, equipment operations, and other mailroom supplies.

Position-Related Responsibilities:

  • Work and cooperate with other employees to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Operate basic office equipment, including but not limited to: copiers, fax machines, calculators, personal computers and other equipment as required in certain positions.
  • Answer single or multi-line phones, route calls, and/or takes messages.
  • Photocopy, collates, and sorts documents.
  • Index, classify, code, file and retrieve manual records using alphabetical and/or numerical filing systems.
  • Update and maintain reporting systems.
  • Follow written procedures or oral instructions pertaining to assigned area.
  • Retain a valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

  • Deal with others in a tactful, courteous and business-like manner.
  • Neatness and accuracy in completing assigned tasks.
  • Learn and retain assignments with appropriate training.
