What to Expect

Tesla's Vehicle Engineering department is composed of thousands of the world's bestvehicle,battery, and manufacturing engineers. These Engineersare responsible forthe mechanical and industrial design of all major programs, for example, batteries, Optimus, Robotaxi, and all new factories.DesignTechnology, which is part of Vehicle Engineering,is responsible formaking the tools these Engineers use every bit as intelligent and dynamic as the products themselves.

As a Software Product Manager on theDesignTechnologyteam, you willdrive thedevelopment ofsoftware applications that automate or streamline parts of the design process.


What You'll Do
  • Discover and prioritize the most important problems to solve through deep understanding of your customers and their needs
  • Define metrics for measuring business impact and use them to make data-driven prioritization decisions
  • Define and socialize product vision, strategy, and an outcome-based roadmap
  • Prepare actionable epics, stories, and bugs and collaborate with the Technical Lead on maintaining a prioritized backlog for the team, balancing business outcomes with tasks that enable the team to reliably deliver customer value at a sustainable pace
  • Validate that delivered solutions solve intended business objectives by applying predefined measures
  • Coordinate release of software, including release notes, documentation, training, and internal marketing

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
  • Experience managing software development (e.g. software product manager) strongly preferred
  • Strong focus on user-centered design and measurable outcomes
  • Experience working in an organization that designs and manufactures complex hardware products preferred
  • Experience withmechanical design engineering processes preferred
  • Experience creating operational metrics and dashboards preferred

    Expected Compensation
    $112,000 - $264,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
