The Network Specialist provides troubleshooting and problem resolution in a production environment, daily sustainment support for DHA LAN/WLAN/WAN networks, hardware/software upgrade coordination, approved network change implementation, SolarWinds/ARMIS/Ansible-supported diagnostics, LAN/WAN security barrier support, bottleneck and latency analysis, and device reconfiguration or replacement. Must-have Requirements: DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level II or equivalent. Security+ and CCNA or equivalent network architecture certification. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science plus at least two years of related experience; or certified technical/vocational school plus at least three years of related experience. Proficiency in TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.1d, 802.1q, 802.1w, 802.3, 802.11, 802.3u, 802.3z, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and DoD/DHA communications media. Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards. Experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity. Proficiency in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds. Ability to take direction from Referral Network Engineers and Network Engineer Associates on firewall, VPN, and IDS configuration. ADP sensitivity determination required.
