Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director Recreation
SPVR for Recreation.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides leadership, vision, administration, and direct supervision for a comprehensive Intramural Sports Program in support and alignment with the Recreation Department's mission, vision, and Strategic Plan.
- Handles risk and financial management, program and staff development, assessment, scheduling, and broader collaboration departmental support.
- Works evening and weekend hours as needed to effectively support staff supervision, program operations, and maintain a presence at departmental, divisional, and university programming.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor training certification, or ability to obtain within the first 180 days of employment.
- Ability to pass RU Defensive Driving course within ninety (90) days of employment.

- Progressive professional experience in sport rules design/implementation, programming, officiating experience, and training officials.

ducation & Experience
- Master's degree in Recreation Management, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Sports Management, or related fields.
- Minimum of two (2) years of progressive professional experience in sport rules design/implementation, programming, officiating experience, and training officials.
- Minimum one (1) year officiating experience outside of a collegiate Intramural Sports program (extramural, high school, college-level).
- Progressive experience leading recreation programs and/or facility operations in a college setting.
- Experience overseeing largescale student employment programs (preferably 50+ employees).
- Proven records in leading organizational transformation, with the capacity to effect change in the institutional culture and operations.
- Professional involvement such as presenting or committee work, particularly involvement with organizations such as NIRSA, NRPA, NASPA or ACPA.
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of recreation management systems such as Innosoft Fusion, IMLeagues, DSE, Smartsheet, or similar software tools.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and/or Qualtrics.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships across diverse campus units.
