This is a high-visibility leadership and technical role driving integrated M&S across the space enterprise. The successful candidate will lead a highly motivated team of M&S Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) developing complex orbital simulations for Space Force Tier 1 exercises.
This role requires a proactive leader willing to step outside traditional comfort zones to expand NSDC mission capabilities, coordinate tightly with external organizations, and advocate for NSDC equities within the broader space warfighting domain. This role is ONSITE in Schriever SFB - 720 Irwin Ave. in Colorado Springs.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
- Enterprise Integration: Serve as the primary NSDC liaison to external organizations, maintaining "tied-at-the-hip" coordination with USSPACECOM and S4S to ensure fully integrated M&S efforts across the space enterprise.
- Mission Advocacy: Champion and protect NSDC equities as the central focal point during joint-agency planning, exercises, and system integration meetings.
- System-of-Systems Integration: Lead the technical integration of diverse operational command and control (C2) tools into federated modeling environments, ensuring seamless data flow, exercise data retrieval, and interoperability across multi-source simulation architectures.
- Operational Simulation: Utilize Systems Tool Kit (STK) and other simulation software to model real-world engagements, training events, and mission planning operations to expand understanding of the space warfighting domain.
- TTP & Requirements Development: Leverage M&S outputs to support the development of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and establish foundational requirements for future operational Common Operating Picture (COP) tools.
- Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and direct the day-to-day activities of the M&S analyst team, ensuring deliverables align with NSDC leadership priorities.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
- Security Clearance: Active, in-scope TS/SCI is strictly required.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Space Domain Expertise: Strong operational knowledge of space systems, orbital mechanics, and the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission area.
- System Knowledge: Broad understanding of space systems, including DoD, national security space assets, and adversary systems.
- Leadership Capability: Demonstrated experience in a team lead, project management, or external liaison role within a military/joint-agency environment.
- Technical Software: Advanced proficiency with Systems Tool Kit (STK), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) software, and Systems Modeling software (SysML).
- Platform Experience: Familiarity with enterprise-level space command and control systems, federated database architectures, and distributed training simulation environments.
- Wargaming & Analysis: Proven track record of developing wargame models and integrating real-world data into hypothetical analysis to support Tier 1 exercises.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $110,000 - $128,000
