The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Project Executive- Fire Protection Alarm for our growing divisioninSeattle, Washington. In this role, you will develop andmanagelarge and complex projects including strategies, goals, andobjectives. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

  • Performs oversightonall activities, project functions, and the resources needed.
  • Defines project assignments for team members.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact with the customer during theproject'simplementation.
  • Hasfinancial responsibilityfor the projects - Includingaccurate,timely, and salient reporting to stakeholders.
  • Acts as a steward of all company policies and procedures.
  • Responds to stakeholders withaccurateandtimelyinformation tofacilitatecompany decision-making.
  • Exercises global decision making by considering other departments within the company such as project management, sales and estimating, accounting,purchasing, etc.
  • Facilitates invoice payments from clients and ensurestimelypayment of subcontractors.
  • Responsible for all pre-construction budgets/estimates.
  • Prepares client and subcontractorchangeorders.
  • Preparemonthly project accounting review (ETC).
  • Ensureprojects are completed on schedule.
  • Monitors and proofs change issue log.
  • Selects,develops,coachesandmanagesstaff.
  • Develops positive working relationships with craftforemenand other field personnel who are assigned to projects.
  • Meets with each trade'sforemanand reviews the project as the design develops
  • Effectively manages a percentage of the annual sales based on department needs.
  • Provides support to the customer with regards to projectfinancials,contractualand technical issues.
  • Works with a large client base including the owner and business leaders for the company.
  • Takesownership ofprojects asassigned by Business Unit Manager.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Ten (10) years of project management experience in construction isrequired.
  • Five (5)yearsmanaging a team isrequired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlookand Visiorequired.
  • Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera, and/orSuretrakrequired.
  • RCDD, CPM professional designation is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable codesrequired.
  • Knowledge of equipment selection procedures. Includes layout of the equipment with required clearances andgood designpracticesrequired.
  • Knowledge ofconstructionfinancial programs and softwarerequired.
  • Basic estimating skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems (HVAC Controls, Fire Alarm, Security) is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $131,000 - $210,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
