A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,977-$87,294 (Full-time annual equivalent)
Percent time:
Part-Time. Positions may vary from 9% per semester to 81% FTE depending upon need. (One class is 9%).
Anticipated start:
August 1, 2026 (Fall 2026), January 1, 2027 (Spring 2027), or Summer 2027 (date depends on which summer session).
Position duration:
2 Semesters

Position description

The Physical Education Program at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applicants for non-tenure track lecturer positions.

Successful candidates will teach physical activity courses at elementary through advanced levels in physical education, in the following subject areas:


* Dance: Ballet
* Outdoor Education: Hiking, Archery
* Fitness: Resistance Training, Circuit Weight Training, Aerobics, Cardio, Boxing for Fitness, Running
* Sports: Basketball, Badminton, Tennis
* Aquatics: Swimming all levels, SUP, Water Polo
* Fencing

In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include: holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus), creating and grading exams, and using a learning management system (e.g. bCourses) and/or maintaining a course website.


Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent international degree).

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Two years of prior teaching experience

Preferred qualifications

One year of experience teaching college level courses

Master's Degree (or equivalent international degree). Professional accomplishments or recognition in one or more area of specialization.
