Ignite Digital is seeking an experienced Engineer/Scientist III to support a US Navy software maintenance mission area in the Norfolk, VA area. This seniorlevel role is focused on advanced engineering, systems analysis, and software development activities that directly contribute to Navy maintenance readiness, logistics modernization, and enterpriselevel operational improvements. Candidates will lead and participate in efforts to develop, sustain, integrate, and evaluate complex systems supporting project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and conduct software development and sustainment activities for project and integrated logistics systems
  • Perform systems analysis, systems architecture development, and technical solution engineering
  • Provide systems/equipment support and troubleshooting for multifaceted environments
  • Lead or support Test & Evaluation activities, including test planning, execution, data analysis, and reporting
  • Support logistics system workflows, data integration, and performance assessment
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams and government stakeholders
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives supporting DoW C4ISR, logistics, and enterprise business systems
  • Guide junior engineers and contribute to project technical direction


Required Qualifications:

Education:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following fields:
    Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems, or Computer Science


Certification Requirement (Software Engineer or ComputerRelated Degrees):
Must be actively working toward one of the following within 18 months of role start:



  • Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)
  • Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP)
    OR (with COR approval) one vendor/platformspecific certification, such as:
  • Microsoft (MCSD, MCAD, MCDBA)
  • Sun Certified Professional (SCP)
  • Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
  • Cisco (CCNP, CCDP)
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • Certified SAFe/Agile Software Engineer
  • Certified SAFe DevOps Practitioner
  • Certified SAFe Architect
  • AWS Foundational, Associate, or Professional certifications


Experience:



  • Six (6) years of experience in software development and maintenance, including:
    * Systems Analysis
    * Systems Architecture
    * Systems/Equipment Support
    * Test & Evaluation
    * Logistics support
  • Three (3) years of technical experience supporting software development and maintenance projects/programs
    (Experience may be achieved simultaneously)
  • Experience with DoW C4ISR, maintenance, logistics, or business systems highly preferred; comparable complexsolution experience may be accepted with COR approval.


Additional Requirements:



  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance
  • Strong analytical and systemsthinking skills
  • Experience leading engineering or software technical tasks
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse technical teams and customer environments



Salary: $90k+ to align with education & experience
