About the Opportunity:
Seeking a technically skilled professional to oversee renovation projects, tenant buildouts, and major building system upgrades within a large +1m square foot industrial facility in Rochester, NY. This role combines engineering knowledge, construction project management, and building systems oversight within a complex multi-tenant industrial environment. The successful candidate will manage renovation projects from planning through completion while ensuring building systems remain reliable and compliant.
The position works closely with the property management team, maintenance staff, contractors, and municipal building officials.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Renovation Projects:
  • Lead tenant buildouts, renovation projects, and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Develop scopes of work, renovation budgets, and project schedules.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, and approvals with municipal building departments.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, building code, and compliance requirements.
Building Systems Oversight:
  • Provide technical expertise on HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and structural systems within the facility.
  • Evaluate building systems during renovation planning to ensure compatibility with new tenant requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex system issues when needed.
  • Monitor energy usage and building performance to identify efficiency improvements.
Capital Planning & Coordination:
  • Assist ownership in planning long-term capital improvements.
  • Evaluate infrastructure capacity for future tenant expansions.
  • Develop technical solutions for adapting legacy building systems.
Collaboration with Operations Team:
  • Collaborate with property management and development teams on operational planning.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Property Manager and maintenance staff on day-to-day building operations.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance planning and system upgrades.
  • Assist with property inspections and infrastructure planning between renovation projects.
  • Support emergency response efforts and be available for after-hours issues as needed.
