Machine Operators

Description Summary:

Springfield anticipates openings throughout our Machine Shop including entry-level through advanced placements. Machine maintenance and programming expertise is highly desirable. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Operates, sets up, or programs cnc machines (lathes, mills, grinders). Keeps work areas clean and provides machine maintenance as permitted.
• Utilizes precision inspection tools to ensure quality product.
• Responsible for accurate reporting of time worked and appropriate use of earned time. May work overtime as requested.
• Practices safe work habits. Attends and participates in safety and informational meetings.
• May accept special assignments and train for other machine shop operations to support the production department.
• Works to facilitate the success of the department through coordination of time, material, and resources.
• Follows applicable standard operating procedures.

Other duties as assigned: work may include, but is not limited to, above listed responsibilities

Requirements:

Appropriate education (high school diploma or equivalent, technical training) and demonstrated work history expected. Training and familiarity with OSHA regulations as they pertain to maintenance operations in addition to hazardous materials awareness training is helpful. Skills required include manual dexterity, problem-solving, and technical. Must be cognizant of safety regulations pertaining to the handling and use of firearms.
