Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor is an important member of the manufacturing team and is responsible for scheduling and overseeing maintenance projects; as well as, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment and providing maintenance and support to all aspects of the manufacturing processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Capable of performing a preventive maintenance program for the entire plant.
  • Capable of repairing industrial equipment and systems.
  • Responsible for assisting with and completing assignments with direction and supervision.
  • Capable of performing preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance with nominal technical assistance.
  • Recommends solutions to the supervisor or Engineering staff to improve equipment performance.
  • Capable of supervising others and providing directions on task completion.
  • Scheduling and budgeting maintenance activities and necessary improvements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/Skills/Education)

  • Prior manufacturing experience or recent technical training.
  • Additional experience with forklift operation, welding, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatic systems or water processes is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand instruction manuals and schematics.
  • Must be physically able to perform all duties required which may involve among other things; standing for long periods, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting and carrying loads of up to 50 pounds.
  • Should have strong verbal and written communication skills, and basic math and computer skills.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and a dedication to safety, high quality of work and staying on task.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Certification or associate's degree in a related field, or technical/industrial military training is preferred.
  • High school diploma or higher; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
