Responsibilities

MONITORS AND COORDINATES CLINICAL SERVICES PROVIDES IN MAT AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES

  • Will be able to provide all services provided by an Assistant or Clinician.
  • Provides weekly and/or as needed supervision to clinical and nursing staff.
  • Develops and maintains work schedule for clinical staff as needed.
  • Monitor admission and discharge process.
  • Is knowledgeable of and capable of utilizing and monitoring therapeutic interventions with clients who present a duel problem, mental illness/substance abuse.
  • Responsible for selection and retention of personnel.
  • Is a member of the SUD Leadership team and attends all meetings unless excused by supervisor.
  • Is a member and participates in all QA.
  • Supervises implementation of UnityPoint Health Standards of Excellence by clinical and nursing staff.
  • Makes recommendations to the Director of Addiction & Substance Use Disorders concerning policy and procedure.
  • Supervises the initiation of standardized protocols for clinical care where indicated.
  • Ensures that patient/client treatment care plans are individualized.
  • Ensures that procedures and treatment occur according to regulations, policy and procedures with attention given to age specific care and dual diagnosis care.
  • Identifies and documents response to supervision.
  • Documents employee's participation in and response to continuing education.
  • Will complete employee evaluations in a timely manner
  • Will follow all Federal Regulations and is responsible for regulatory inspections - keeping all records in accordance to SUPR, The Joint Commission, and DEA.
  • Provides oversite for the Drug Overdose Prevention Program


MAINTAINS EFFECTIVE COMMUNCIATION AND TEAMWORK STYLE WITH COWORKERS, OTHER DEPARTMENTS, OTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AND THE COMMUNITY.

  • Actively maintains open communication & demonstrates a cooperative, teamwork style with patients, significant others, other staff members, other healthcare workers, medical staff and community. This is demonstrated through assisting staff as needed, providing back-up group counseling or informal counseling, making recommendations of policy and procedure updates/improvements, providing patient/ community education, answering phones correctly, etc.
  • Attends and facilitates multi-disciplinary staffings.
  • Maintains computer proficiency so that communications will be done in a correct manner. Stays abreast of Health IT updates and changes in regard to computer generated treatment plans.
  • Demonstrates organizational abilities through correct prioritization of duties, efficient and appropriate usage of time, and effective utilization of support personnel.
  • Will assist in the development and implementation of educational programs regarding chemical and non-chemical addictions.
  • Will make recommendations to the Director of Addiction and Substance Use Disorders regarding the development of in-services and workshops deemed necessary to keep clinical and nursing staff updated regarding treatment approaches.
  • Will make recommendations to the Director of Addiction and Substance Use Disorders regarding revising and updating patient/client education programs to reflect most recent data regarding addiction and relapse prevention.


CLINICAL COMPETENCY AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IS MAINTAINED ACCORDING TO DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.

  • Attends and facilitates all mandatory monthly staff meetings, unless due to illness, vacation or supervisor approval.
  • Attends all equipment/technique training as needed.
  • Reflects UPH's Standards of Excellence by his or her services and activities.
  • Adheres to Social Work Code of Ethics.
  • Completes all mandatory education and testing. All tests must have a 70% correct or more score to demonstrate competence (unless a specific score other than 70% is indicated).
  • Participates in ongoing training as offered and mandated by UPH, regulatory bodies.
  • Performs various departmental duties consistent with the Mission of UPH.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $33.41per hour - $57.47per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
