Weston is seeking a Project Manager to support our growing municipal water/wastewater practice in the Austin, Texas region. This role is well-suited for a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure who combines strong project management capabilities with technical expertise and a client-focused, seller/doer mindset. The Project Manager leads municipal water/wastewater engineering projects involving planning, design, permitting, and construction support for treatment systems, pump stations, collection systems, distribution systems, and related infrastructure. This individual is accountable for assembling and leading project teams, managing scope, schedule, and budget, and delivering projects that meet Weston's technical, regulatory, and financial commitments. The Project Manager builds strong relationships with municipalities, utility districts, and regional stakeholders across Central Texas and contributes to business growth through successful project delivery and follow-on opportunities. - Leads municipal water/wastewater projects of moderate to advanced scope and complexity across the Austin and Central Texas region.
- Applies engineering judgment to guide technical execution, problem-solving, and risk management throughout all project phases.
- Ensures all deliverables meet applicable federal, state (TCEQ), and local regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with municipal clients, utility districts (MUDs), and regulatory agencies.
- Serves as a primary client contact, clearly communicating project status, risks, and technical solutions.
- Engages clients to identify needs, define projects, and position Weston for follow-on work within the Austin market.
Team Leadership & Development
- Assembles and leads multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and subconsultants.
- Aligns team capabilities with project needs to deliver high-quality water/wastewater solutions.
- Mentors junior engineers and staff, supporting professional development and licensure progression.
Project Execution & Financial Performance
- Manages scope, schedule, and budget to consistently meet or exceed financial and operational metrics (e.g., NIBT, margins, DSO).
- Oversees subcontractor performance and ensures compliance with Weston procurement, quality, and safety standards.
- Proactively identifies risks and implements corrective actions to maintain successful project outcomes.
- Ensures timely and accurate invoicing and actively manages receivables.
Business Development & Growth
- Contributes to business development through active client engagement, opportunity identification, and relationship building within the Austin and Central Texas market.
- Participates in or leads proposal efforts, including scope development, technical approach, and cost estimating.
- Leverages successful project delivery to expand municipal client relationships and generate repeat business.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas is required, or able to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- 10+ years of experience in municipal water/wastewater engineering, including design and project delivery.
- 5+ years of experience as a project manager.
- Demonstrated experience with water/wastewater systems, including treatment plants, pump stations, collection systems, and distribution infrastructure.
- Experience delivering projects across planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
- Strong understanding of TCEQ regulations, permitting processes, and municipal project delivery in Texas.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Strong client relationship management skills with municipalities, utilities, or public-sector clients in Central Texas.
- Experience supporting business development efforts, including proposals, client engagement, and project pursuits.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to balance technical leadership, project management responsibilities, and client service expectations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-growth regional market.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Salary Range: $104,027 - $137,901 - $171,462
