Corrosion Control Production Manager
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Corrosion Control Production Manager that provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative direction to the Project Management team. Acting as the critical bridge between executive program leadership and deck-plate execution, this role is responsible for the aggregate success of all concurrent Ship to Shore Corrosion control projects with their area of reasonability.

Job Description:
- The Production Manager provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative direction to the Project Management team. Acting as the critical bridge between executive program leadership and deck-plate execution, this role is responsible for the aggregate success of all concurrent Ship to Shore Corrosion control projects with their area of reasonability.
- The Production Manager ensures that all project managers successfully deliver their portfolios on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with NAVSEA standards, shipyard regulations, and quality controls.
- Direct Supervisor: Manage, mentor, and evaluate a team of Project Managers, ensuring high performance, professional development, and accountability.
- Workforce Allocation: Establish and manage macro-level manning and resource allocation requirements across all active and upcoming projects to optimize efficiency and prevent labor bottlenecks.

- Aggregate Schedule & Budget: Oversee the master integrated schedule and financial performance of all active contracts. Identify and mitigate high-level risks to maintain profitability and timeline adherence.
- Technical & Quality Assurance: Serve as the escalation point for complex technical challenges, including the oversight of specialized programs like corrosion control strategies, surface preparation standards, and QA package integration.
- High-Level Diplomacy: Act as a senior liaison between the Program Manager, government customers (OSIC), host shipyard facility leadership, Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), and primary subcontractors/vendors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project sites strictly adhere to shipyard operations, Navy operations, NAVSEA instructions, Work Authorization Forms (WAF), and Tag-out requirements.
- Reporting: Consolidate weekly project updates, financial health reports, and performance metrics from Project Managers to present actionable insights to senior executive leadership.
- Collaborates directly with the Environmental & Safety Coordinator to maintain strict compliance with OSHA and U.S. Navy regulations for all on-site Valkyrie personnel.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Marine Operations, or a related field (or an additional 4 years of equivalent experience).
- Must have a minimum of 6-8 years of progressive program/project management experience in a defense or maritime environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity overseeing other project leads or large multidisciplinary teams.
- Must have a proven track record of successful execution across multiple ship classes and deep familiarity with naval shipyard environments.
- Must have working knowledge of NAVSEA instructions, shipyard operations, WAF/Tag-out protocols, and general AIT contractor regulations.
- Must have advanced proficiency in financial reporting, project forecasting, risk management, and integrated master scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).
- Must have a background in ship repair mechanics, including QA workbook construction, surface preparation, and corrosion control methodologies. Conflict Resolution: Exceptional ability to detect, mitigate, and resolve high-stakes technical, financial, or personnel conflicts across various project sites.
- Must have verbal and written communication skills suitable for brief-outs with high-ranking military officials, shipyard executives, and deck-plate personnel.
- Must have superior organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure industrial environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior Navy E-9 or O-4 to O5 preferred.
- PMP certification
- Prefer experience using Microsoft Project to write proposals
- Previous experience in reading/developing drawings for the navy and MSC ships.
- Passport holder preferred.
- Knowledge within corrosion control, paintings and top coating.
Security Requirements:
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Must have the ability to gain access to private and public shipyards and Naval installations.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 50% travel nationwide to include international travel as needed.

- Protective clothing or equipment and face shields or goggles shall be worn when welding, cutting, or working with molten metal.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Pay Range: $135,000 - $145,000 per year |
