Overview Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This position will be located at NASA's Langley Research Center. Responsibilities The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the MASR supervisor (Mech, Rigg, CMEC, Millwright shop). All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed. Responsibilities: Ensuring your personal safety, the safety of coworkers and customers is an obligation and primary duty. Supports the Maintenance Services Group repairing machinery and mechanical equipment.
Troubleshooting, examination of machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose anomalies
Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required. Valid driver's license is required. Six years of experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training in a designated field, craft, or trade that can be documented by a certificate or diploma from a reputable organization, school, or trade program. Must be able to effectively communicate well with others. CMOE Maintenance employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. Your SPA is a Company provided resource to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries: as such, it is the most important resource you are required to use. Essential Functions: Work Environment: Mechanical Shop environment and equipment rooms - potential exposure to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals, and industrial facilities. Many areas where work is required may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation and environment (90%). All safety rules and regulations must always be followed without exception. Physical Requirements: Visual and physical (hands on) contact of mechanical related systems, hardware, articles (50%). Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs. (20%), body mobility (60%) and ability (where applicable) to distinguish colors. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. Equipment and Machines: Repair and overhaul a variety of large industrial pumps, valves, gear boxes, cooling towers, hydraulics, air handlers, exhaust fans and other mechanical equipment (90%) Attendance: Regular attendance is mandatory (100%) Other Essential Functions: -U.S. Citizenship required. -Valid Real ID compliant identification - www.dhs.gov/real-id -A valid driver's license is required. -Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required for this specific position. -Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. -Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. -Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others. -The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client organization. -Must be able to balance scope, schedule, and budget to ensure program success. -Employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed.
